The event focuses on the strategic, technological, and industrial foundations required to strengthen the European battery ecosystem. Key themes include Market Strategies and Policies, which address access to critical raw materials, workforce development, infrastructure readiness, and global competitiveness. A strong emphasis is also placed on Manufacturing and Gigafactories, highlighting scalable production technologies, flexible manufacturing systems, and collaboration across industry and research to meet growing demand. In parallel, Battery Chemistry and Design is explored through next-generation technologies such as solid-state and sodium-ion batteries, as well as improvements in cell, module, and pack performance, safety, and efficiency.
Applications of battery technologies across mobility and energy systems form another central pillar of the event. Discussions address Electric Mobility, covering the electrification of transport sectors—including passenger vehicles, heavy-duty transport, rail, aviation, shipping, and industrial machinery—as well as the growing role of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Applications in grid stabilisation, renewable integration, and distributed energy solutions. Finally, Lifecycle and Sustainability considerations are addressed across the entire value chain, with attention to energy-efficient production, second-life applications, recycling technologies, circular economy approaches, and emerging standards such as battery passports, ensuring that future battery systems are both technologically advanced and environmentally responsible.
