The Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA)

The Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA) exists as an international non-profit making association (AISBL). Representing startups, scaleups, grownups in the industry as well as universities, research & technology organizations, and associations, BEPA gathers the European battery research & innovation ecosystem with 250 members spread over 25 countries. Building on our experience running Horizon Europe’s battery innovation partnership (Batt4EU), we drive research & innovation to keep Europe on the global battery map

Europe must fully embrace the power of research & innovation to tackle the industrial challenges ahead, bring battery technologies to various end-markets, and ensure our continent’s strategic autonomy. Recognizing batteries as one of the key net zero technologies in tomorrow’s electrified world, Europe and Member States need to ensure support from research to first industrial deployment and later industrialisation. This support should span across the battery value chain and should address various battery applications

Next to supporting Europe and Member States into building and implementing the best policies and instruments for funding & financing, we also keep on top of battery technology roadmaps to provide Europe and other relevant stakeholders with the best recommendations of technological priorities to address. This strong support to authorities is made possible by the constant input and insights coming from our broad membership basis and collected via the various working groups and task forces run by the BEPA office.
