Working Groups

These working groups cover all the segments of the battery value chain, allowing an efficient identification of priorities, especially in the perspective of the update of the Partnership strategic documents. They also lead the process of the development of battery topics for the Horizon Europe work programmes, setting out the priority topics for Horizon Europe funding in the coming years. The working groups are organised as follows:

• WG1: New and Emerging Technologies
• WG2: Raw materials and Recycling
• WG3: Advanced Materials
• WG4: Cell Design and Manufacturing
• WG5: Mobility Applications and Integration
• WG6: Stationary Applications and Integration

The BEPA working groups are currently integrated with Batteries Europe for the joint development of a strategic research and innovation agenda. To join a working group, you must be a member of BEPA or Batteries Europe. The process of defining topics for Horizon Europe battery calls is open to BEPA members only.

Each working group is lead by member elected Core Teams, consisting of Industry chair, Research Chair, and Technical Advisor. To see the Core Teams responsible for each working group, check the Working Group Core Team List.
