On 29 January 2024, the European Commission published transition pathway for the EU mobility industrial ecosystem. BEPA welcomes the new transition pathway for the EU mobility industrial ecosystem published by the European Commission.
We can not agree more with the finding that further research and development in battery manufacturing methods, alternative battery composition and battery recycling is necessary for a resilient and competitive EV industry. BEPA Executive Director Wouter IJzermans:
“In the light of the possible funding cuts, I think it’s crucial to highlight that the European Commission themselves say that ‘further research and development in battery manufacturing methods, alternative battery composition and battery recycling is necessary for a resilient and competitive EV industry.’ If it’s so crucial, why cut it?.”
